1. ACP Interpretive Sequence
This is the method, not the output.
- A governance-grade reading protocol
- Used to discipline interpretation before authority attaches
- Portable across domains (academia, law, regulation, democracy, AI safety)
Key properties:
- Phase-aware
- Authority-disciplined
- Misuse-oriented (not just scope-limited)
- Explicitly allows refusal, deferral, and stopping
This is infrastructure. It should not be aestheticized.
2. ACP Instance
(Written artifact / Ghost post)
This is a concrete application of the Interpretive Sequence to a specific object.
An ACP instance:
- Is always anchored to a specific artifact
- Makes interpretation legible to others
- Does not claim generality beyond the case
- Is where narrative, clarity, and structure matter
Important constraint:
An ACP instance may apply the sequence, but it must not redefine it.
That preserves methodological integrity.
3. Analytic Commitments (Layer 4)
This is the binding surface of the ACP instance.
It exists to:
- Prevent interpretive drift
- Block over-extension and misuse
- Encode what the instance is and is not doing
- Preserve continuity across readers, time, and AI variants
Analytic commitments are:
- Explicit
- Restrictive
- Non-narrative
- Treated as authoritative within the instance
They are not a summary.
They are a constraint system.
How These Three Work Together (Important)
- The ACP Interpretive Sequence governs how reading happens
- The ACP Instance is what is produced
- The Analytic Commitments govern how the instance may be used
No element substitutes for another.
If any one is missing:
- You get good analysis but no governance (missing commitments)
- Or good writing but no discipline (missing sequence)
- Or a method without institutional traction (missing instance)
Why this triad is strong
This structure does three things most systems fail to do:
- Separates method from rhetoric
- Separates interpretation from authority
- Preserves usefulness without allowing escalation
That’s why it generalizes so cleanly.
When introducing this externally, use the following phrasing consistently:
- “This is an ACP instance, applying the ACP Interpretive Sequence.”
- “The Analytic Commitments at the end define the limits of this analysis.”
